Nails on a chalkboard, TV static, the alarm clock... What noise annoys you most?
Babies crying ... or people talking while your trying to watch a movie in the cinema.
Can't stand remakes come on, my friend was a fan of the original Karate Kid (it was ok as a movie for a young kids),
so much that he forced me to go watch the god awful Karate Kid part III with him in the cinema (I nearly died from the boredom). Ralph Macchio no longer looked that a kid and the plot was non existent, they had to flog the horse again with "The next karate kid" ugh !
Now there is a remake with Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith, give it a rest please !
The plot from imdb : "Work causes a single mother to move to China with her young son; in his new home, the boy embraces kung fu, taught to him by a master.", note the word kung fu and not karate or even karate fu, ... I don't Jackie Chan has the same charisma as Pat Norita.
The nation is the grip of a cold snap from Siberia, sometimes you see people in their cars who have literally only cleared two eye holes in the windscreen, leaving the rest of the snow on the car. How idiotic is that ?
I had a scary time driving home today in the artic blizzard, the visibility was quite poor and I was terrified !
A local singer I really liked, Lhasa de Sela, died a few days ago. I didn't even know she was sick (breast cancer). She was only 38. From the US originally she was raised in Mexico but moved to Montreal many years ago and was quite well known here. She was such an original talent and sang in English, French, and Spanish.
It's Sunday but I have some work to do. And I'm procrastinating. I did a bit of work this morning earlier, but the snow is crazy outside and not sure I really want to be adventurous (read: wet) right now.
Oh-Ten? Two-thousand and ten? Ten? What will you say when you have to say 2010 aloud?
I shall say twenty ten
Happy new year to everyone
It'll be a full moon tonight, a Blue Moon on New Year's Eve. Once again I wonder where the year went. I can barely remember being off treatment, sometime in the summer. More vivid is the memory of the (painful) bone biopsy and making our first offer on a house the next day (I hobbled around with a cane). And more significant is the lingering feeling of having wasted that precious time house hunting! But anyway. Here we are.
"Thanks for actual food and the proverbial food for thought.
You have done very well with living your life being aware of the cancer and keeping it from being your primary focus.
You are an amazing person and our team recognizes how fortunate we are to work with you. We have learned from you as well.
Again, thanks for your many gifts. Best to your husband,
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year..."
1. What did you do in 2009 that you've never done before? Bought power tools. Stripped, sanded, stained and varnished hardwood floors.
